Gardens in Cornwall

August 1999

Glendurgan

These pictures show the same laurel maze seen from the both sides. We had a cloudy start (the left picture), then when we came back from the Helford river at the bottom of this magnificent garden, it became sunny (the right picture)

Trebah

This is a view from the top of Trebah. It is very sheltered south facing steep valley. You can see Helford River at the bottom of the garden. Breathtaking.
So many Dicksonia Antarctica everywhere. I always admired this beautiful tree ferns, but had never seen so many mature ones thriving.
Not only tree ferns, but also all sorts of tender plants which wouldn't grow in our gardens.
At the bottom of the valley, there are hundreds of hydrangea.
These Gunnera enjoy dump warm climate in this garden. Spooky? indeed.

I am on a plump wooden seal. Lots of seals live around here.

Exotic? Yes indeed.
Notice a Rhododendron grows on the stem of the tree fern.

Trelissick

This rustic rest house is located in a parkland over a road. Lots of pine cones are used to make ornaments on it.
