Midori Takaki, born and brought up in Japan.

Three week trip to Europe on her own in her early 20's changed her life. Since then, she had repeatedly travelled in Europe, both west and east, and Turkey, alone to observe different cultures for months at a time until she enrolled herself in a postgraduate course in UK in 1992. Between trips, she had worked as Interior designer in Tokyo.

After marriage to Mike, a bird lover, in 1995, she started watching wild birds more intensively, and became to long to keep birds to learn more about these fascinating beautiful animals. Birds became the most exciting part of her life.

Although her current health problem hinders her from walking and outdoor life, when she is fine, with Mike, she spends wild life watching, bird garden visiting and gardening; growing rare bulbous plants from seeds is her favourite field in gardening. On wet or cold days, she reads on birds. She also enjoys nice food and wine, anything beautiful and designing background for websites.

She is not good with small children or grannies, and sometimes bites..hard.
